Alameda Creek flows from the East Bay Hills through Niles Canyon into Fremont and then into San Francisco Bay. There are nice walking trails on either side of the creek and it is a favorite local place for me to do an extended walk of 5+ miles. This gallery highlights some of the sights I witnessed on Sunday morning, April 8, 2018. The sky was generally clear, as a storm had passed through the previous day. The water flow in the creek is controlled by the local water resources board, but in one section, they had dramatically lowered a coffer dam, reducing the water level in that section. This resulted in some strong currents in the creek. This weekend I also saw that the cliff swallows had returned to the area to breed.
