Vargas Plateau Regional Park Hike -
May 12, 2018
This park is known for trails that offer a fantastic view of the East Bay and a combination of open range and oak woodland. Prior to California statehood, this land was part of Mission San Jose; the original Spanish land grants were invalidated by the state government and the land was broken up into smaller ranches. This land at one time was a working horse ranch and was bought by the county around 40 years ago, but was only opened as a park last year.
